Buy a home in the East Bay & Tri-Valley
Buying a home is a big step. I will explain every part of it, so you feel sure about each choice.

From our first conversation to the keys in your hand
My home buying process
Every home-buying journey starts with a conversation.
Whether you're ready to purchase today, six months from now, or simply exploring the possibility of homeownership, my goal is to meet you where you are.
I believe buying a home should be an exciting experience, not an overwhelming one. My approach is personal, hands-on, and tailored to your individual goals. I'll help you understand the process, explore your options, and feel confident about every decision along the way.
1Let's Start With a Conversation
Before we look at homes, I want to get to know you and understand what matters most to you.
We'll talk about your goals, your ideal timeline, preferred locations, lifestyle, and what you're looking for in your next home. We'll also discuss current market conditions, what to expect, and whether now is the right time for you to buy.
Not quite ready? That's perfectly okay. I'll help you identify the steps you can take today to prepare for tomorrow.
2Understanding Your Buying Power
When you're ready, I can connect you with one of my trusted lending partners to explore financing options and begin the pre-approval process.
This helps us understand your purchasing power, estimated monthly payments, and a comfortable price range based on your financial goals.
It's not just about how much you qualify for. It's about finding a home that fits your lifestyle and your budget.
3Finding the Right Home
Now comes the exciting part!
Based on our conversations, I'll create a personalized home search focused on your wants, needs, preferred neighborhoods, and budget.
We'll tour properties, explore communities, compare options, and evaluate homes together. Along the way, I'll share market insights and help you recognize both opportunities and potential concerns.
My goal isn't simply to help you find a house. It's to help you find a home that feels right for you.
4Making an Offer
Once you've found the right home, I'll help you put together a competitive offer based on the property, market conditions, and your goals.
We'll review comparable sales, discuss pricing and terms, and explore negotiation strategies that protect your interests while positioning your offer as strongly as possible.
I'll explain your options so you can make informed decisions with confidence.
5Offer Accepted! Now the Work Begins.
Getting your offer accepted is exciting, but there's still important work ahead.
This is where my hands-on approach really comes into play.
I'll walk you through the escrow timeline, explain important deadlines, and coordinate with your lender, escrow and title professionals, inspectors, and other parties involved in the transaction.
We'll discuss inspections, investigations, appraisal, financing, contingencies, and any negotiations that may arise.
My goal is to keep you informed, anticipate potential challenges, and make sure you understand what's happening and what comes next. No unnecessary surprises, just clear communication and guidance throughout the process.
6Closing Day & Getting Your Keys!
As we approach closing, I'll guide you through the final walkthrough, remaining paperwork, and what to expect before ownership officially transfers.
And then comes one of my favorite moments: handing you the keys to your new home!
But our relationship doesn't end at closing. I'm always happy to remain a resource for real estate questions, local recommendations, and whatever comes next in your homeownership journey.
Your Journey. Your Timeline. My Commitment.
Whether you're just beginning to explore homeownership or you're ready to make a move, I'm here to help you navigate the process at your own pace.
You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. That's what our first conversation is for.
Let's start with a conversation.

Good to know
Common questions
Do I need a pre-approval before I look at homes?
A pre-approval is a lender's written estimate of how much you can borrow. Most sellers expect one with an offer, and it helps you shop within a comfortable budget. You can browse homes before you have it, but getting it early keeps your search realistic and your offer stronger.
What costs should I plan for besides the down payment?
Besides your down payment, plan for closing costs, a home inspection, an appraisal, and homeowners insurance. Your lender gives you a written estimate of loan costs, and your agent walks you through the rest. Asking early helps you avoid surprises, so bring these questions to your first conversation with Jenn.
How long does it take to buy a home?
The timeline depends on how long your search takes and how quickly you find the right home. After an offer is accepted, closing usually takes several weeks, and the exact time depends on your loan and the contract. Jenn will help you build a realistic timeline based on your goals.
How do I start my home search in the East Bay or Tri-Valley?
Start by writing down your must-haves, your budget, and your timing, then talk with Jenn. She can explain each step, point you to lenders, and help you narrow down neighborhoods. You can also browse listings on her eXp page any time and send her the homes you like.
What are Mello-Roos and HOA fees, and how do they affect a newer home?
Mello-Roos is a special tax some newer communities add to the property tax bill to pay for local improvements. HOA dues are a separate monthly or quarterly cost. Parts of San Ramon's Dougherty Valley carry Mello-Roos, and it is worth asking about for any new-construction home, including in Brentwood. Ask for the full cost early, so you can compare homes fairly.
What should I know about buying in a 55+ community?
Communities such as Rossmoor in Walnut Creek and Trilogy in Brentwood have age requirements, their own rules, and monthly fees, and some can charge special assessments. Before you make an offer, review the community's rules, fees, and financial documents, and Jenn can help you ask the right questions.
What should I ask about buying a waterfront home in Discovery Bay?
Ask about the dock and its condition, how deep the water is in front of the home, and the community's fees. Also ask your insurance agent about flood coverage, since Discovery Bay sits on the Delta and is protected by levees. Jenn can help you gather these answers before you decide.
How do I compare commutes between cities?
Look at your actual route and the hours you would travel. Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, and Dublin have BART stations, Brentwood residents can use eBART in Antioch, and Pleasanton has an ACE train station. Highway 4, I-680, and I-580 can all get busy, so test the drive at your normal time before you decide.
